We are perfectly situated to make the most of Lake Windermere and its beautiful surrounding area. The Chestnuts makes the ideal base for enjoying the fabulous Lake District whether you want to relax and take in the beautiful countryside, explore the fells or enjoy a meal in the numerous pubs and restaurant. We are only five minutes walk from Windermere village and ten minutes walk to Bowness village and Lake Windermere.

Chestnuts Guest house in Windermere offers a delightful homely atmosphere and a high standard of comfort and service. The house itself is a century old, enjoying both secluded gardens & private parking.

There is a choice of seven elegantly furnished bedrooms all named after the Lake District lakes. We have three rooms with king -sized four poster beds plus three rooms with standard king size beds and one twin bedded room, all with either en-suite showers or baths.

 

Guests of The Chestnuts have complimentary use of Windermere Manor leisure club. Facilities offered include swimming pool , gym and sauna.


We also have bike storage available and are happy to give advice on walking in the surrounding area and the whole of the Lake District National Park.
